She was a graduate of Englewood High School, received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from the University of Florida, and Master’s Degrees in Nursing and Education from the University of Texas at El Paso.

Gail served in the U.S. Army for three years as a registered nurse and was honorably discharged with the rank of Captain in 1972. She continued her career in nursing in both the private sector and civil service, specializing in mental health. Gail had a passion for veterans and was a member of volunteer organizations and support groups, and continued to help in any way possible, even after retiring from her professional career.8
