Note* She of Bassano, beloved wife of the late William Winkley, passed away in Bassano on February 5th, 2013 at the age of 93 years. Born in Boston, Lincolnshire, England on March 10th, 1919 Ethel received her education there. After working a few years in England, Ethel married William Winkley in 1949 and they moved to Canada in June of 1957. They resided in Bassano. Ethel was the head cook at the Bassano Hospital from 1960 to her retirement in 1982. She was a Life Time Member of the Pioneer Damsiters Drop-in Centre and a member of the Bassano Senior Choir. Ethel will be remembered for her love of life. She loved her family, gardening, bingo, traveling, bowling, and being with her friends. Ethel was predeceased by her husband William, son Colin, 2 sons-in-law Angus Clyne and Henry Janzen and 6 siblings.4
