Note* Tom Galton was a keen Trade Unionist all his life. In earlier days he was a keen sportsman, running, cycle racing and soccer; he went to soccer matches all his life. He worked on the building boom in Bournemouth with roof timber construction. He was crippled with sciatica later.17
