In 1940, my father resided in Jacksonville, Duval, Florida with his parents, David Westfield Anderson, Martha (Pat) Jefferies and sister, Susie Anderson.  He was a engineer (BS Engineering, University of Florida, 1936) in his father's refrigeration contracting firm.  During World War II, Jacksonville was a major ship repair (Merrill Stevens Dry Dock and Repair) and Liberty Ship construction (St. Johns River Shipbuilding Company) port and my Dad designed and installed the first air conditioning system on the conversion of the US Army Hospital Ship Larkspur for Merrill Stevens.   He worked in Commercial and Marine Refrigeration all his life and had three patents for a mobile refrigeration flushing rig for cleaning refrigeration systems and freon on board ships.'.10
